Hammond Electroacoustics provides high-resolution acoustic modelling for large and complex spaces such as stadia, arenas, cathedrals, and transport terminals, down to small critical-listening rooms. Our collection of specialist computer modelling software such as CATT-Acoustic, EASE, COMSOL and bespoke MATLAB applications, allows us to predict how sound behaves in real-world conditions, including the impact of audience occupancy on speech intelligibility. This service enables stakeholders to make informed design choices early, reducing costly errors and ensuring systems meet both client expectations and regulatory standards.

Public Address and Voice Alarm Systems

We design and optimise PAVA systems to meet the most demanding compliance and performance standards. Our expertise includes BS 5839-8, BS EN 54, BS 7827 and BS 60268. We work across entertainment and sports venues, transportation, nuclear and other large public spaces, including the design of the largest PAVA system currently in the UK. As a subject matter expert in STI and intelligibility assessment, Hammond Electroacoustics evaluates how sound systems perform under real-world conditions, including occupied spaces. We identify shortcomings in conventional testing methods and provide actionable recommendations.
